Completely unapologetic about this – I have been documenting the cute and clever things my kids have been saying for years now. And yes, I totally think my four kids say and do the most adorable stuff. I just thought I would have outgrown some of those moments by now, seeing as Amy is almost 24. (!!)
But this happened just one week ago. Amy stops me on this spot (outside our hotel, The Palms in Miami Beach), points up and you can practically see the synapses firing.
"So let me get this straight. Coconuts grow on PALM TREES??"
Ay, Dios Mio! 😉
Val Prieto says
Parumpah! We’ll be here all week, folks! Remember to tip your waitresses and bartenders!
Gusano says
you shouldda blown her blond little mind and asked her “como le entra el agua al coco?”
Amy says
Ok, it wasn’t quite like that! I knew coconuts grow on palm trees because I’ve seen it in the movies . . . I’ve just never seen it in real life. Our Palm Trees here in the “Oh Si” are coco-less.But seriously . . . how DO they get the water into the coco?
Amy says
I mean, I’ve heard of putting the lime in the coconut, but agua? Someone please enlighten me!!
Val Prieto says
Amy,Its the coconut gnomes who put the water in the coconuts. Sometimes, if it’s real late at night, you can hear them giggling as they tickle each other with palm fronds.
