The family & friend Hey, It’s Summer! texts were coming fast and furious a few days ago. 
Not to mention everyone on my social media feeds. I feel like I’m slowly waking up to the fact that it “might” be summer. I know it’s crazy-stupid hot in other parts of the country, however, our weather here in So Cal is slowly moving towards the warm side, but it’s been cool and overcast for the past few weeks.
But today. Today it’s warm. 77 degrees. With a slight warm breeze. Now I’m really waking up to the reality that it’s mid-June and yes, SUMMER!
“IT’S SUMMER!” My mind is slowly responding: “Wake up, Marta! It’s summer!”
And if you’re Cuban, summer means just another excuse to have your cafecito. Am I right?
“Ok, ok. So, let’s do a summer giveaway!” She said, sleepily – I’m still coming to from the slow, cool spring we’ve had, but that’s not important right now.

2. Absolutely not, when that alarm goes off I first thank God for the brand new day & run downstairs to make myself some café con leche!!!
3. Niña as long as I have my all time favorite cafe Cubano, La Llave I can have it with pastry, full on breakfast or my favorite pan tostado con mantequilla!

1. I own a Keurig, a Nespresso and an Illy….nothing still compares to my old school Moka Pot with a coffee brick. I have the Moka Pot in various sizes.
2. Yes…need coffee in the morning to get up and go. In the afternoon to keep going…and then late evening surprisingly to help me relax to go to sleep.

I have 2 Moka Pots on my stove— One is clear, so I can watch the magic brewing. My guests LOVE it. I also have a Keurig in the kitchen, and a Breville Nespresso in my home office, about 10 feet away from the kitchen. ????
I’m definitely a “Don’t even breathe near me, until I’ve had my cafécito” kinda girl. Preferably with a slice of buttery toast.
I don’t require a pastry for my cafécito, pero I DO require cafécito for any pastries. ????
Side note- I had surgery last week and will be putzing along on Decaf for 2 more weeks. I can’t wait until I get to resume my full-blown cafécito. T minus 13 days. Yes, seguro que Im counting! ????????????

Both, first cup as ‘starter fluid’ and then a couple more cups with breakfast and then after lunch and around 5pm to guve me enegy for my workout.

I use my Nespresso, I love the La Llave pods, best thing ever!!! If not using my Nespresso then I use the cafetera that I inherited from my Abuelita, brings back so many memories.
I am a first thing in the morning cafe type of person, my favorite way is with a piece of pan cubana pressed in my panini grill (with lots of butter).
