Someone asked me the other day about Cuban Coffee. She asked the difference between Cuban espresso and “American” coffee. I kind of went off about everything that I love about Cuban coffee, from the beautiful aroma to the comforting taste. 

I often say that if the smell of freshly brewed espresso were music, it would be the soundtrack of my life.

    1) I’ve been drinking strictly cafe cubano for 10 years… what a coincidence, that’s how old my son is. 😉 I need the energy!

    1.Tell me how long you’ve been drinking coffee.- Born and raised in a Cuban household in Hialeah, I’ve been drinking coffee from the womb.
    2. Do you drink it black or super sweet (as God intended)? Con mucha mucha azucarrrr
    3.Espresso, Cortadito, Cafe con leche? All of them to be honest. One cannot simply choose.

    I’ve only started drinking coffee regularly in the last year and a half. Give me ALL the sugar and always a cafè con leche….unless I’m in Hialeah with my abuela and then it’s colada, colada, colada! Also I like all the Instagram and Facebook pages you said to!!

    My mother told me that she started giving me coffee when i was four years old (the same age i started giving my daughter cafe😀) I love my coffee very sweet👌🏽 At least 4 spoons of azucar. My favorite is cafe com leche♥️ I also liked the Instagram and Facebook page😊

    I’ve started drinking coffee within the last 10 years. It’s got to be sweet, although I use sugar free (I try to be good). And I have to drink it with milk, but each year, the milk is getting less and less. Pretty soon I’ll just be shooting espresso straight into my veins. LOL.

    (1) I have been drinking cuban coffee since I was a baby. Growing up in Miami, with Cuban parents/grandparents… It was the norm to have a baby bottle with warmed cafe con leche. Giving a child a bottle with “plain” milk was unheard of. I even remember over 23 years ago when our oldest son was born that my grandmother was upset because I would not give our son Cafe con leche in his bottle when he was an infant.
    (2) Drink it sweet of course. I could not fathom any other way. (3) Espresso, Cortadito, Cafe con leche? You need a fourth answer….all the above.

    1) I’ve been drinking Café Cubano hecho con Café La Llave since I was 8 years old. Given that I’m 24 now, that’s a solid 16 years of addiction to caffeine (you can thank my Cuban abuela for that!) I was raised by a Cuban mother and a Cuban grandmother who simultaneously converted my very Mexican father into an espresso addict. My brother and I stood no chance once we were born! Not that we’d ever argue against mami y abuela.

    2) I drink it con tres cucharaditas de azúcar pa’ la espumita, but when my family comes to visit from Florida, you KNOW I have to add more! I think they’d disown me if I didn’t. Actually who am I kidding? Cubans are the most loving people on the planet. They’d sure laugh at me for it though!

    3) I’m definitely a cortadito kind of gal. Mi abuela siempre me hacía mi café con leche desde niña, but as I evolved into an empowered, somewhat independent adult with a ton of responsibilities, I began my love affair with good old espresso. Since my college days, I started leveling out the intensity of my affair by adding a splash of milk. It makes drinking mi cafecito much more of an experience than a simple routine. I just can’t live with it out it.

    I’ve been drinking coffee for about 20 some odd years, and drink it melittad, espresso, and brewed plain or sweet and secret shame of using hazelnut flavored coffeemate when I’m feeling trashy.

    I’ve been drinking coffee for like 20 years but I met my Cuban 9 years ago and he makes the best espresso so that’s what I’ve been drinking! So yeah, once in a while I’ll have it sweet but I prefer the espresso my Cuban makes. ❤️

    Hi Martica, I’ve been drinking cafe con leche since I was 9 years old. As I became a teenager I started drinking espresso with lots of sugar of course! My 3 sons love Cuban coffee and know how to make it with espumita! Thank you! Laura the Cubana like my son calls me! 🤣

    I liked Cafe La Llave on IG and FB!!
    I’ve been drinking Cuban coffee since I’m about 10 years old.
    I drink my Cuban coffee as God intended, super sweet!!!
    And I will drink my delicious Cuban coffee any way you give it to me, Espresso, Cortadito &/or
    Cafe con Leche and at any time, and anywhere!!
    And for the record, my absolute favorite Cafe Cubano is the one and only Cafe La Llave!!!

    1) I’ve been drinking Cuban coffee since I was a teenager.
    2) I drink it sweet.
    3) I prefer Cortadito.

    1) I started drinking coffee in the late 70’s, cause I was so tired at work, cause I would stay up so late…I haven’t stopped since!
    2) I drink it black, with espumita…Because I just love the flavor of coffee!
    3) All of the above…Depends on my mood
    My husband bought my an amazing Espresso Machine for Christmas, and I haven’t spent anymore money at any coffee house since…I make my own…And loving it!
    I “liked” Cafe La Llave on Facebook and Instagram…Now I’m off to make myself a Café con leche!

    Really? I just turned 46… so that would be 46 years plus (does womb time count??).
    Do you drink it black or super sweet (as God intended)?

    Espresso, Cortadito, Cafe con leche?

    Do I have to choose? Cafe con leche in the AM, Espresso and Cortadito intermittently until bedtime. Probably more Team Cortadito, but hard to get a really good one in NYC.

    1. I have been drinking coffee since I was a little girl. My mom told me I would. It eat when I was sick so she gave me Cuban coffee to keep my strength up.
