You know I can’t sing the praises of ViVaPoRu (Vicks VaPo Rub) loud enough. What I love even more than that is that my creative friends have found a way to make their own. Gamechanger, people!
Last year I featured the lovely Cuban business, Cassava Handcrafted Bath and Body. Owner Marianela Valdes has her pulse on what our community loves and needs. And she crafts these delightful scents herself. I’m so impressed with her.

Well, I love their soaps! Guavette made me a curated box for my son and his fiancée’s wedding and I went big! Inside the curated box was the Cassava soap of guava and cheese with Albisa candles and violets and guava candies. It was a hit! Then, it was our novios anniversary, well that’s another story! So got in touch with Yvette from Guavette again and she made me up a beautiful curated box goodies including a Cassava soap, Tobacco. Needless to say my son wanted and I ordered as well! I love it and so do the men in my life! Oh the Cubanity!
2) What can I say typical Cuban family! ViVaPoRu at home on trips to the beach! Cure all! Acne, cough, bronchitis and Flu on the chest on feet with socks! Still use it and almost 50! So this organic version must be better! Can’t wait to try!

I would love the vivaporu line because even though I’m a gringo married to a Cubana, it was such a staple of my childhood! I remember my mom using it when I would get sick. If not those, then anything from the Violeta’s line because I’m obsessed with how it smells.
I loved their Violeta line! I still buy colonia de violeticas. 🙂
But bix I am still an avid user & believer. That is a def cure all.
My most favorite time to use it is when I have a bad day & I’m all stressed out I rub some on my temples y me hago la cruz ✝️ en la frente y a dormir 😴 como gato en el sofa!!!

I love, love, love violetas. Having said that my favorite is the “violeta” line.
My mom always had a jar of Vics Vapor Rub in the medicine cabinet. When we got a cold she would rub our chests with it and then dab a little bit outside our noses. She also rubbed our feet with it and then she would put socks on. I hated the socks part.

Theres nothing VicksVaporRub can’t cure!! My abuelo would be like ” Ay, echa te un poco de VapoRub y tu vera que se te qieta” and sure enough it would! I would LOVE to try these products especially since they are known to be better “Mejor Que ViVAPoRu”
My fav things in her shop are her take on Violetas and ofc Vapo Rub! These would be awesome to try !!
