There's still a whole lot of celebrating going on around here.
I'm the kind of person who likes to celebrate birthdays for the entire month, so celebrating my 7 years in the blogosphere really does deserve a month-long celebration, but that's not important right now.
Also, I've been busy lining up the very best the Cuban community has to offer for My Big, Fat, Cuban Family readers. So thanks to your wonderful response, this is going to be a really fun giveaway.
Let me tell you what I have in store for you today.
My wonderful friends at Habana Brand Clothing have very generously offered the following giveaway to celebrate my 7 Bloggywonderful Years. You probably remember Roland from his beautiful Cuando Sali de Cuba story that he shared with us last year.
Here's just a taste of the Habana Brand Fabulousness that you sooo want to be a part of:
Lucy and Jonathan looking sooo accidentally cool in their Habana Brand shirts.
The winner will receive both:
- A Habana Brand T-shirt – they have some amazing designs that you get to choose from.
- A 16 x 20 poster – you can choose from one of 5 beautiful designs.
To enter this drawing for A Habana Brand Shirt and Poster of Your Choice, please leave a comment on this post and answer one or both of the following questions:
- Do you love wearing your Cubanness for the world to see? (Or is the word, Cubanity?)
- Do you have Cuban art in your home?
Please leave your comment on this post and I'll choose one winner on Friday, October 25th, 2013 at 11am PST.
2) For an extra entry, please go "like" Habana Brand Clothing on Facebook and come back and leave me another comment telling me:
- "I like Habana Brand Clothing!"
So that's not one, but two entries. Because that's the way I roll…

I love to show off my “Cubanicity” (ha…just made up a word) whenever and wherever I can!I have no actual Cubanarian art pieces (yet another word!) around the house, just some sweet little tchotchkies my Mom and Aunt have handed down to me (and are invaluable to me!). Therefore, that beautiful poster would be a great start to the vast collection I plan to have one day. ๐

100% Cubana and proud of it. I love my adoptive Country, USA, and lived here since the age of 4; but my people, my food, my culture…oh how I love it. And my children, 31, 29 and 26 have adopted the entire culture. (They can roast a mean lechon!) I wear my asabache and my Isla de Cuba charm on the charm bracelet! LOL As far as Cuban art, I have many pictures of my early childhood there and an original painting brought by my Godmother on a trip to the US in the 1990’s hanging in my living room.

Although I came from Cuba when I was 4 months old, I was raised as a true cuban. I love wearing anything cuban, unfortunetly here in LA we don’t have access to as much merchandise as in Miami, however, everytime there is a cuban festival or anything cuban, I make sure to buy t-shirts, bracelets or anything I can find. I attended the Dodger Cuban Day and was able to find 100% Cubano hats for my boys. I also have a beautiful collection of water colored Cuba photos from the 20’s, framed and hung in my living room. Also the cuban emblem, with cuban flag hung along with the photos. And many cuban books. My sons (we)are very proud of being Cuban. Thank you!!!!

I had already liked Habana Brand Clothing a long time ago! And like it again!

Hi Marta! I’m American born Cuban married to a Puerto Rican and I definitely let my Cubaness shine through. I have visited Cuba only once and I am proud to tell my mostly European descendant neighbors where my parents come from. They come from a beautiful tropical lush green island inhabited by the most heartwarming people that make anyone from this planet feel at home. The food with it’s sweet criollo aromas and so flavorful there is none like it in the world…and it’s espresso coffee to finish off with Cuban pastry delights.. To remind me of all this my Cuban “art” are mostly new and “old” pictures of my relatives and paternal grandparents. My grandparent’s picture was taken over 60 years ago on their farm as a background.I also have a dark wood carving from the 90s of the Virgin Mary made by a cousin who lives in Cuba and is very artistic in his craft. I would love to add Cuban art to balance my decore…

I would love to have more Cuban art in my home. Does the stuff I make as a Cuban count? I am a Cuban Miami transplant in NW NJ and there isn’t much out here in terms of Cubanness. Would love to win to show it off more as I’ve been told my face screams Cuban.
