Kikita posts again!
You knew it was coming . . . Sheila still refuses to take down the tree. One of our devoted readers and Facebook friends, Billy, encouraged her madness and sent her decorations, New Orleans music, and King Cake!
Obviously, "Tree Decorating" is a lovely excuse to have a party . . .
So we had our own little Fat Tuesday party and listened to the music as we decorated the tree.
Sadly, there weren't too many decorations, so we started putting the extra stuff on the tree too.
As you can see, the cup, the cd case, and a poster also became part of the tree decorations.
It is rather fitting isn't it? A Mardi Gras Christmas tree?
I mean, Ash Wednesday follows Mardi Gras and marks the beginning of LENT which will lead us to EASTER which gets us back to JESUS! The guy that started it all in the first place.
Sheila is brilliant!
(I'm sure she will welcome any suggestions for how to decorate the tree for SAINT Patrick's Day. =D)

Yes, Saint Patrick’s Day tree ideas would be much appreciated. Gracias!

Great entry!!!! Loved the tree.Hey maybe you can decorate with Lucky Charm cereal?!!
Make a string like garland like some do in Christmas
with popcorn. Well, not Cubans, but others do. LOL!!!!
We exaggerate with the tinsel. LOL!!!!
Angela Garcia says
Just baste it with Guinness and you should be fine!

I LOVE IT! I won’t give all my throws to the kids this year so I’ll have lots of beads to send Sheila for next year’s Carnival tree. Now she needs shamrocks, empty Guinness bottles, cabbages and potatoes to decorate it for the next holiday. I like ody’s Lucky Charms idea too.I wonder if I have any of the beads from last year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade…

Sheila, I think you rock. Really, I do. I have always secretly wanted to keep a tree up all year and to change the decorations with the seasons/holidays/ etc. Hmmmmm, this whole thing is inspiring me…I’ll keep you posted if I do it one day.For my part, I do decorate for all the holidays…after Christmas decorations were down we put up our Valentine ones and are changing to St. Patrick’s day and into Easter ones.
Fun! Enjoy your tree :o)

Thank you all for your WONDERFUL ideas. I shall try and incorporate all of them.Kristen, I do have my moments 😉 Seriously though, I recommend keeping a tree. The initial look of shock/bafflement/pity on people’s faces when they first see it is priceless.
