I had an idea.
A sort of getting-to-know-you idea.
And then I thought it might make a really awesome Christmas present.
And then I thought maybe I would take it out for a test run.
And because I'm actually LOSING SLEEP over this, I decided I'd just go ahead and blog about it and see if you will play with me. (thanks for indulging me. =D)
Here's my quiz and my answers …..
The Best and the Worst:
10 questions that will help you get to know me better.
1. The age in life you’ve most enjoyed so far: 15 – I was adorable once….
2. The age in life you’ve hated most: 32 – I had just gotten divorced and found myself alone, a single parent with 2 small children and I had no money, no life and no future. =(
3. The best day of the week: Friday – our school and work week is over and the weekend is full of possibilities.
4. The worst day of the week: Wednesday – because I feel like "gosh this week is going by so fast!"
5. Your finest cooking accomplishment: Homemade Pastelitos de Guayaba.
6. Your worst cooking disaster: I tried to make fried chicken once when I was about 19 and it looked really pretty. Who knew chicken took so long to actually COOK??? (can you say,"disaster?") LOL
7. The color that looks best on you: RED.
8. The color that looks worst on you: Yellow – does it look good on anyone??
9. Your favorite movie of all time: The Princess Bride. "Fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles…
"
10. The worst movie ever made: Legends of the Fall. (Brad Pitt and his butt made for a boring sub-plot to an already tedious film.)
The Project:
I have a dozen other quizzes. I'm giving one to each person in the family and waiting for their answers and compiling them into a book with a section for each person along with photos. I'm doing this for my immediate family – for the 6 of us. But then I thought it might be a cool idea for the rest of my big, fat, Cuban family. So I will be shooting quizzes around this week to the rest of them. The final project being a cool looking 12X12 scrap-photo book from shutterfly.com like the Celebrate Summer 2008 one I made that's up there on the left.
And this morning, the project was on my mind and I wondered if I just put it up on my blog, (no, nobody gets tagged. Just do it if you'd like to play along. Leave your answers in the comment section.) would you indulge me and play along? Thanks!
Inquiring minds want to know…. so… tell me about yourself….

What a fantastic idea! If I had the resources I would totally do that for my family hahaha.1. Best age- um… considering I’m only 15 and I don’t remember the first quarter of my life I’m gonna have to go with…age 15. yay :] Hmm maybe 11, cuz Peter Pan was realy fun.. actually… no, no. 15 :]
2. Worst age- 9. Horrible year. We moved, I left my old friends, we didn’t have a kitchen, mom was sick, on my new street there was no one to play with but smelly boys (I just spent all my time reading instead). Nonetheless I was very unhappy.
3. Best day- Sunday or Thursday. Sunday cuz of church, Thursday cuz of drama. I loooove church and drama hahaha.
4. Worst day- Friday. Friday mornings to be specific. I’m always all stressed out about getting my work turned in on time.
5. Best cooking- my Parmesean Artichoke Dip or these cookie bars (yes, cookie bars) that are extremely yummy but I haven’t made in forever.
6. Worst cooking- I burned cookies. Like, to a crisp. Nobody wanted to eat them. Yuckyyy.
7. Best color- yeesh I dunno…maybe blue, brown?
8. Worst color- yellowwww haha
9. Best movie- I think Hitch. Or Signs. Hitch has a lot of funny stuff in it but Signs has a great message. Pirates of the Carribean was good too. As was Legally Blonde. I also liked the Chronicles of Narnia…
10. Worst movie- CLOVERFIELD. That was some way to waste 2 and half hours of my life! No plot, terrible filming, blood, cussing, crying, dying. Ugh it was just so terrible. And you don’t even find out anything at the end of the movie! >_> hpmh.
Well, that was fun =D Thanks Mrs. Darby!

1. The age in life you’ve most enjoyed so far: I think it was my teen years. Life was about me!!!2. The age in life you’ve hated most: So far it’s been when I turned 40. Only because I realized at that moment that my oldest was 18 and an adult and I felt old.
3. The best day of the week: Thursday’s. I was born on a Thursday and I’ve always enjoyed the feeling of it being Thursday and saying, Ahh…tomorrow if Friday.
4. The worst day of the week: When I was younger, I hated Sundays after 5:00pm. Especially the twilight time of day. I would get an eerie feeling as I walked by the living room window and saw that it was neither day nor night. I certainly didn’t look forward to Mondays. But today, I’m happy to say, I don’t think I have a worst day of the week. Thanks to my TIVO!!! Yay!!!!
5. Your finest cooking accomplishment: My lasagna, according to my husband. Or my Garlic Chicken, according to all my friends.
6. Your worst cooking disaster: I once bought the wrong sauce for my lasagna. The labels looked the same, but the smell and the taste was awful.
7. The color that looks best on you: Corals or peaches. And believe it or not, yellow, but as a mustard. I think it’s because of my blond hair.
8. The color that looks worst on you: I don’t know. I don’t mean to sound conceited, it’s just that I stick to what I’ve been told looks good.
9. Your favorite movie of all time: Fiddler on the Roof.
10. The worst movie ever made: For me it’s any horror movie. I hate with a passion to be scared to death while watching someone get killed for fun. Like in the Friday the 13th and the Halloween movies.
This was lot’s of fun!!!! Thanks for thinking of this. I remember when I was a teen and we would make these folders with blank pages in them that had a different question on the top of each page and then numbers going down the pages. A friend would choose the same number in each page and answer the questions from the top of the page. You would get to know alot about your friends this way. That’s what these quizzes remind me of. Now, it’s all electronically done on e-mails. Oh how times have changed. 😉

Well…I love to talk about ME…so here goes!#1-17! I had settled into my 3rd High School and was voted Homecoming Queen!
#2-I would say 40. Not because of the big 4 0, but because it was the year I was diagnosed with M.S. and my Mom died all in the same 2 week period.
#3-Thursday because it is my “Friday” and we usually get to have our granddaughter over night!
#4-Monday-for the same reason other people don’t like Mondays! Beginning of the work week (however Sunday is the beginning of our week, but it seems wrong to say Sunday) 🙂
#5-Mastering Marta’s Arroz Con Pollo (go ahead, link to it)
#6-Turkey, It was my first turkey. I was about 30 (we use to always go to my mom’s for Thanksgiving, etc.) It just would not cook. Finally gave up and it was pink close to the bone…Did I say pink? I mean bloody!
#7-Blue (I’d make it blue, but the comment thing doesn’t let me)
#8-I would say beige (Yellow looks pretty smokin’ on me!)
#9-Fellowship of the Ring-because we waited so long for the movie to be made from the book! (I can’t believe you didn’t say LOTR)
#10-It would have to be Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes. We compare every movie to that one. We turned it off before watching it, so maybe it got great! I notice it got 3 Oscar nominations. I just remember it being BAD!
So there you have it! And BTW…great picture! Kisses! and MORE!
