My studio and therefore, my life, have been in chaos since summer started. I"m not complaining, and I admit, some of the craziness is self-imposed.
Because I’m not schooling and we don’t have to be anywhere at any time, I usually take the summer months to re-group. (I’m guessing most real teachers do this too.)
One of the projects on my to-do list is getting my G4 and G5 Power Macs upgraded and cleaned out so I can do stuff, which means I’m spending lots of time doing one-to-one classes with a Genius.
But yesterday, the G4 proceeded to EAT the OS X Tiger upgrade disk, and all 80 gigs I’m running froze like the polar ice caps.
So I hauled it down to the Apple Store to have my very own Genius fix the thing. He’s the perfect mix of nerdiness and hipness (exactly like those PC/Mac commercials), with a fabulous sense of humor and a high tolerance for middle-aged wise-cracking Cuban women. 😉
Now the thing is upgraded and it just screams! And God bless my hip, nerdy Genius who taught me how to categorize and code my photos in iPhoto in such a way that it all makes sense to me.
So, now it’s close to midnight and I really should have been in bed hours ago, but here I am still playing and feeling crazy and smart all at once. And I Like It. =D

Color me (Mac) happy!

I can attest to this. Last night she went running to find her Genius around 8pm (when the whole thing with the Tiger and polar ice caps happened). Now that the Mac is up and running the world makes sense again! 😉
