You know that sometimes I recreationally complicate my own life. Like, I could just grab some candy and put it in a bowl for Halloween, but that’s too simple. I end up going all out, as evidenced here and here.
(Don’t judge me.)
But the truth is that I’m getting older and have recently survived cancer. (Read about that here.) And those things have affected my life more than I care to admit. I’m lucky to be surrounded by my extremely watchful husband and kids who take excellent care of me. God is good.
I recently partnered with Verizon to try out the features of the new CareSmart Watch for Seniors. And I have to tell you, it’s been a life-changer for me.
The watch itself is lightweight and comes in black – which I prefer because it goes with all the colors I wear – and it also comes in lavender which is really cute, but again, black is more my style.
It was a super-no-brainer to set up. It was as simple as loading the Care Smart app on my phone and I was all set. Then I sent an invitation to Eric and the kids and they are now part of my 10 Trusted Contacts. Easy-peasy.
The screen is easy to read and it has one button emergency calling.
I have been using the reminder alerts the most as I go through my day. It reminds me to take my meds. It might as well remind me that I’m not as young as I used to be, but that’s not important right now.
I’m now homeschooling my grandson Sebastian. (You may call him Bash.) And I have added a very Cuban reminder that says “Ponte las pilas!” Translated: “Put in your batteries!” Because hanging with a 4 year old brings its own set of challenges. Ya tu sabes.
I’ve found that I don’t take my phone with me when I go for walks anymore. I can get a hold of anyone in an emergency and this pleases me greatly.
Of course, the Care Smart Watch also reminds me to take that walk daily.
I guess I’m not as young as I’d like to think I am. Thanks for the love, Care Smart!
