Albisa Candles – Home of the Cuban Bread

A few weeks ago an Instagram post was brought to my attention. I was tagged in a photo of a candle. Interesting but what does that have to do with…WHAT?! It’s scented like Cuban Bread??!! 

This immediately caught my imagination. What is this sorcery? I reposted it and shared it with my followers online.

And I believe that with all my heart, but that’s not important right now.

This is right about where the plot thickens, as they say. The Miami Herald then picked up the story and they mentioned that a few of us Cuban-culture influencers (<–doesn’t that make me sound taller?) shared about the Cuban Bread candle on our social media and the crowd went wild.

I reached out to the supremely talented Isabel Alvarez, owner of Albisa Candles and asked if she would graciously agree to host a giveaway here on MBFCF to help me celebrate my 13 Years in the Blogosphere.

She was absolutely lovely and didn’t even hesitate for one moment. The next thing I know I’m opening a package of not just one, but 3 candles. Each scent evocative of an essential part of my Cuban life and history. 

I confess that I teared up a little. 

The Cuban Bread Candle does not fool around. It is the actual scent of Cuban Bread. *crosses herself* I”m not even kidding with this. The other day I actually baked bread, which I do often, in my little bread machine at home. The fam often starts making remarks as soon as the aroma of the baking bread hits them. 

This week I cheated and took that aroma from good to great by lighting that Cuban Bread candle. It did not disappoint. 

The Havana Nights scent reminds me of every single well-dressed Cuban man I’ve ever known. It reminded me of Tio Fernando on a night on the town. WARNING: These candles can make you time travel! 

The Tinguaro scent had me mentally walking into my abuela’s house in Old Havana. The fragrance a mixture of “talco” and “colonia.” Too beautiful to describe. 

Isabel! Seriously, these candles should come with warnings! The emotions were so intense. 

I feel like I can no longer keep this beautiful secret to myself. The lovely Mrs. Alvarez has generously agreed to host today’s giveaway of all three (3) candles to one (1) lucky MBFCF WINNER.

    CUBAN BREAD CANDLE !!! 🇨🇺🥖🕯❤️ I cannot wait to smell it in my home at Christmas , it will bring back Abuela for my husband and my daughters and introduce Cubanity to my 1st grand baby named after Abuela 🇨🇺🥖🕯❤️ The other scents that looked exciting were BEACH DAY My whole family is beach obsessed and WHITE PUMPKIN because both my girls LOVE Halloween so much that my eldest got married 10/29 with a White pumpkin theme!🎃
