For the Love of Cuban Food

June 20, 2018 By Marta Darby 1 Comment

{DISCLOSURE: This post is sponsored by P&G & Align Probiotics. All opinions that follow are my own.}

Can I just tell you the weirdest-best-maybe-worst thing for me about Empty Nesting? Going from cooking for a large family to cooking for two. You would think I’d be celebrating the simplified meal prep, but a lifelong habit of cooking for a crowd is hard to shake.

I’m handling this whole Empty Nesting Chapter pretty well, I think. And I’m loving the support I get from P&G Everyday.

Of course, I still love to entertain, which is a lot of fun for me, but what about the random Tuesday nights when it’s just me and Eric?

Full Confession Time: I sometimes make a run to Porto’s Cuban Bakery – because, happily, there’s one in my area code now, thankyouverymuch. *insert happy dance here*

So we’re still eating well, and by well, I mean Cuban, even if I’m no longer doing all the heavy lifting.

Also, without having to worry about everyone else in my household – hello, Cuban Moms everywhere – I am finally starting to take better care of my self.

To this end, I’ve added Align Probiotics to my days. And I recommend the same to anyone who asks. Because good bacteria helps support your digestive system, taking a probiotic like Align helps accomplish that. Align has been a super easy addition to my daily health routine. I’m so grateful to P&G for sending me a sample. I’m totally hooked now.

There’s the amazing added benefit that I am feeling so much better each day, but if you need me to spell it out, here’s the scientific stuff:

  • Probiotics are good bacteria that support many essential bodily functions, including healthy digestion. Your body needs beneficial bacteria for a number of things, including healthy digestion.
  • Probiotics help maintain the delicate balance between the good bacteria in your gut microbiome, which is made up of trillions of bacteria and is considered a key to overall health.

And while we’re on the subject of Full Confessions… we may or may not be eating our Cuban take-out meals on trays in front of the tv while binge watching Victoria on PBS. I know. Who am I and what have I done with Marta?

Answer: She’s right here. And she’s “living her best life.”

Okay, maybe I have been watching too much tv, but that’s not important right now.
