Because I have had such a great response from my sponsors, I'm proud to announce that I have a few more 7th Blogiversary giveaways for you. Isn't that awesome? I have to say right here how much I love my people.
Last year when I was in Miami I stumbled upon a wonderfully clever idea that has since become a movement.
There are a few things you need to know for any of this to make sense.
- 305 is the area code for Miami, Florida.
- It's a habit for us Cubans to enjoy an afternoon espresso pick-me-up. Much like the English Tea Time, but without extending the pinky.
- The beautiful and talented JennyLee Molina and her agency JLPR originated the concept that 3:05 should then become the official cafecito time for the city of Miami.
- JennyLee Molina is a PR genius.
From the Official 3:05 Cafecito website:
The idea
came about to unify the Cuban coffee culture and create and on-line
community that would enjoy sharing this mutual love for Miami's nectar.
You don't need to be Cuban to enjoy it or even from Miami but Cuban
coffee drinkers understand the culture. The window of a Cuban restaurant
is the original social network. It is where, on any hot afternoon, you
might find a relative, an old friend, the Mayor of Miami or Dwyane Wade.
Sharing a coloda is an act of friendship and solidarity. What is Miami
without cafecito?
What indeed?
I so love the entire concept of sharing your cafecito. When Amy was in Miami in June, she connected with JennyLee and reported what I already suspected: She's an absolute doll and a genius. ¡Claro que si!
Today's giveaway is sponsored by my cyberfriend, JennyLee Molina and 3:05 Cafecito of Miami.

Yo si!!! Lo hago en casa! Y aunq no soy cubana hago cafe cubano.. Y me gusta tanto q ya no me puedo tomar “el marron” de mi querida Venezuela… Este Miami me ha contagiado tantas cosas buenas y esa es una q me mantiene muy alerta en casa con mis 4 niños!
Cafecito at 305 at work with coworkers. Its like clockwork. the cafe alarmclock goes off and we allmeet in our kitchen. And I love cafe on the run.
Well Union City also runs on Cafecito time. I take mine here at home in New Jersey. My Cafecito break it’s in the afternoon, like all good Cubans.
Marta I take an afternoon “cafecito” break in the office. I make it, because no one else in the office can make it like I do. I go all the way with espumita and everything. After that everyone is happy and work gets done faster. 🙂

I make mine with “espumita” the way my grandmother use to do it. That afternoon pick me up is the best part of my day!
I take a Cafecito break whenever or where ever !
My assistant and I bought a little cafetera and everyday at 3:30 we have our little cafecito at our desk…shhh sometimes we lock the office for a 15 min break. We are in IL so its wonderful in the Winter to take the chill away and wake us up..LOL
I work for a large federal government office filled with Latinos. At exactly 3:00, Rosa, the lady that sits in the desk next to mine says “Son las 3, la hora que mataron a Lola! Adonde esta Mayito con el cafe.” At which point Mayito gets up from his desk and goes in the break room and makes us or 3:05 cafecito!

Having un cafecito break in the afternoon is the only way to restore my sanity. And can you believe that where I work, it’s “against regulations” to have anything plugged in? The only other solution is to go to the coffee stand that brews a brand of coffee that shall not be named. It wasn’t long before the Miami culture kicked in. Now (even though it’s not even listed on their menu) they finally serve cafecito, cortadito, cafe con leche…the real way…the way Miamians loves! You can definitely find me in at that coffee stand waiting for my fix every afternoon.

I lived in Miami for many years. That is where I met, fell in love with & married my Cuban husband!! We have 3 beautiful kids, all 3 look 100% Cuban, oh well! They are beautiful & mine! Anyway, I always enjoyed my cafecito in the afternoon in Miami….LOVED it. So much that when we moved to VA I brought the tradition with me. I have taught my co-workers what “cafecito” means & have convinced them that they need it in their life too!
Unfortunately, I can no longer have a daily cafecito 🙁 Heart palpitations, I know, lame…sigh Once in a blue moon though I will accept a cafecito from a friend I am visiting with espumita and sweet as can be:)

Since I was about 8 years old, I have my afternoon coffee. My grandparents would colar el cafe & leave me a demi- for when I arrived from school. I take my afternoon cup @ home or on the run. Good luck to everyone especially me!
I always take an afternoon cafecito break… I head down to Versailles, ask for a cortadito with leche evaporada (evaporated milk), sit with a friend, do a little people watching, talk business, talk sports, and have a little social break in the middle of my day.

As a Miami native recently transplanted to Los Angles, when I heard about 3:05 Miami Cafecito Break I quickly embraced it. Being alone on the West Coast the 3:05 Cafecito Break has allowed me to connect with my Family back in Miami and with my Cuban Culture. My roomate and I always take our cafecito break in the afternoon. And at work I have not been shy about spreading the news about 3:05 Miami Cafecito break. I love how 3:05 Cafecito Break makes it to make new friends in Los Angeles by sharing Cuban coffee, and no surprise to us they are now all hooked on La Llave. I run on 3:05 Cafecito!

Each day at around 3pm we have our afternoon cafecito break at work… How many Cubans does it take to make cafecito, 3 of us… we all take part of this afternoon ritual in the break room. We make the best cafectio with espuma in Kendall.
Everyday at 3:00pm we have our cafecito break in the break room in our department at FIU. Everyone anxiously wait for this every afternoon.I also like the 3:05 Miami Cafecito Break on Facebook!!

If the cafe is flowing, you know I’m having a sip! Be it at home, at the mall & more recently at my local Walmart (three cheers for their cafecito bar in the deli)!
I love having a cafecito anytime and anywhere!

Sometimes it’s a cafecito, sometimes an cafe americano, depending on how much time my toddler allows me to myself. Since I’ve been pregnant it’s been an occasional, guilt and pleasure ridden cafecito!

I take a Cuban cafecito break on the weekends or every day when I’m visiting my parents in West Palm Beach, Florida. During work on any given day, unfortunately, I rarely stop for an afternoon break.
I LOVE 3:05 Miami Cafecito Break! Cafecito makes a much better day.
I can’t handle that much caffeine after noon, so I tend to only have my cafecito break in the mornings. I especially enjoy it on lazy weekends.I like 3:05 Miami Cafecito Break
