In my case, you create a new version of an old favorite.
Go to Babalú blog today and see my new and updated version of the Classic Cuban Elena Ruz sandwich.
This makes me totally happy. =D
If you can't get any where you live, you can get guava jelly HERE.

Marti,I love Elena Ruz sandwiches!!! Here in Miami some
restaurants call it “Helen Ruth” as the name for the sandwich. This name always led me to think that Helen Ruth must have been an America vacationing in Cuba at some point. LOL!!! 😉 Oh…so toasty and right out of the sandwich press on media noche bread. Yummy!!!
Oh my gosh. I have made these sandwiches forever and I didn’t even know they were Cuban. As you would say how accidently cool…oh, or does Amy say that one? I guess that is not important right now (now, I know you say that one!) We missed Jonathan today. Jessica got all the photos taken for her book and she is putting it together now along with Nathan and Alyssa. Again, homeschooling at its best…letting it happen naturally :o)
MMMMM that sounds yummy! I am INTO it! I’m gonna do it!
