Was everyone amazed by that Solar Eclipse last week?
We are still talking about it and thinking BIG thoughts about how epic it was and even though we were not in the path of totality… WAIT. That really needs to be capitalized: The Path of Totality. *insert scary piano music here*
Anyway, while we were NOT in The Path of Totality, we certainly got quite a show. I had just made my 2nd cafecito (Café La Llave Espresso to be exact) of the day (don’t judge) when the eclipse became visible in Southern California.
So we pulled out the old “punch holes in a piece of paper” trick and watched the shadow of the Moon cover a fat portion of the Sun.
“Wait! I need more coffee for this!”
Eric took it to the next level by busting out the colander, which was very “guajiro,” but that’s not important right now.
So, to celebrate the world not ending last week, and all of us getting to witness a once in a lifetime heavenly display, let’s all take a deep breath and please enter my giveaway sponsored by the always delicious and delightful Café La Llave.

1. It depends on the time of day, but I like regular more.
2. I enjoy about 2-3 cafecitos a day (these days are so tiring!)
3. I add coffee creamer to my coffee, but occasionally will use sugar.

Side note: We enjoyed total solar eclipse in c=Canton Ohio by having a bbq, pit fire & torches for the total darkness. We had a grand time.
1) My preference is real coffee, although I do have decaf “por si las moscas”
2) I enjoy one cafecito, but if we have a visitor who drinks cuban coffee, I may have more. Por supuesto.
3) I do add sugar to my Cuban coffee of course. Like my Cuban mom used to say: ya hay mucha amargura en este mundo, ¿para que un café amargo también?

1. Regular 90% of the time. Every so often I’ll indulge in a late night cafécito, when I should be in bed.
2. I work from home and usually have 2 in the morning— sometimes 3, depending on how the day is going. Then another at 3:05pm, to hold me over until my last patient.
3. As much as I’d love to claim to be a savage and drink it straight, the reality is that there’s only 1 way for me— con AZUUUUUCARRRRR! ???????? ¡Dale!

Real coffee, twice a day, I’m a barbarian! After a few years of lessening my sugars. I didn’t have a kcup machine, but a stovetop espresso maker:)

Anywhere from 1-4 cups small cups I swear
Sugar substitute and Sugar for balance.
Two, one sugar
My favorite cafe ???? I only drink the regular one . Only 1 cup or I’m flying . I call it jet fuel . Definitely with lots of suger !!
I usually prefer my coffee in the mornings. One cup is good and definitely with caffeine. Now, it’s also nice, on occasion, to have an espresso (cafesito Cubano) after a large meal. It’s a hug in s mug either way.

1. I make the real one every morning. My daughter takes it to work in a thermos. Me tomo un buchito en la mañana. If I want more I make decaf for me.
2. Unfortunately I can only have one, but my daughter drinks a small cafetera during the day.
3. Definitely add sugar…café con espumita.
1) I have my DiLoghi Coffee Machine set to brew at 4:30an M-F…It’s got to be “real” at 4:30am!
2( I enjoy (need) 2 cups of coffee everyday—-
1 in the morning and one in the early afternoon!
3) I like a bit of sugar-free Caramel Macchiato creamer in my cafecito or frothed up in my cappuccino! ☕️
