I do a lot of stuff.
I'm not saying that in a bragging way. It's just the nature of the way my life is structured. And I'm grateful that I have the time (and the fabulous husband who indulges me) to do all the things I do.
Usually you'll find me here at home in my Suburban Cuban-American Bubble, cooking Cuban food and writing about it, or pining away over Andy Garcia (=D), or most recently, confessing my never-ending love and devotion to Desi Arnaz Jr. (sigh)
I can be found homeschooling my kids or driving them around to various events. Or doing creative stuff.
But tonight, I will be stepping out of my comfort zone just a bit.
I'll be co-hosting the Babalú Radio Hour with George "Pitbull" Moneo and Reinier "El Gusano" Potts this evening.
Both of them are absolutely brilliant and I confess that I'm intimidated by the thought of being on the show with these "wise guys." 😉
While they're explaining the nuances of the economic bailout and the distinctions between Obama and McCain(and dropping the occasional f-bomb, but that's not important right now), I'll be the one stuttering in the background….
"Ummm…..yeah! What he said! Hey, is anybody hungry??"
Tonight at 6pm Pacific – 9pm Eastern

Ay, Dios mio.
ADDED 10/9/2008: If you listen to the podcast, I come on after the first 45 minutes. I thought the Bill/Hillary intro George did for me was cute. =D

Wow, and now a radio star! You are rising and shining!
George says
That was a interesting talk show! I agree with you on a couple things. (1) In the OC, if you want Cuban food, you have to cook it yourself (or ask my mom to, in my case). (2) I never liked Yuca either!I wanted to hear more from you, but it was hard to a word in with those guys!
Congrats, George.

I am listening to last night’s show now (yes, I have a problem with dates now that I am unemployed). I have to say, okra CAN be delicious! (And I am not a fan of snot foods, although the snotballs we got in Panama were delicious.) But if you bread and fry sliced okra, it’s yummy and the Cuban Pork and Okra Stew in the Memories of a Cuban Kitchen cookbook is fabulous.

Yikes-I missed it! Wish I could have called in!!

c-f,I believe you. I mean, I know lots of people who eat and enjoy okra. I’m thinking battering and deep-frying can cover a multitude of sins.
George,
Thank you for feeling my pain. The boys have asked me to do the show maybe once a month… quien sabe?
Thanks for listening.
Besos,
Marta
