In my dreams, I never thought I'd be…
a) Blogging. (seriously, who blogs? =D)
b) Still going strong after 2 years. (2 whole years!!)
To date I've written over 600 posts and you've responded with over 2300 comments. And I love that you follow me over to Babalú every other Thursday to try my latest recipes.
We are SOOO celebrating this week!
"How will we be celebrating?" you ask.
(or maybe you're asking "why are we celebrating, again?" but that's not important right now. =D)
I'm giving stuff away.
Seriously.
And you know I'm no slouch in the gift giving department.
So, this week I'm giving away the following:
a) TWO My Big, Fat, Cuban Family Coffee Mugs.
b) TWO Cuban Spice Aprons from Cuba To Go!
c) TWO My Big, Fat, Cuban Family Cookbooks.
To enter the drawing, please leave a comment on this post and I'll do a random drawing on Friday, October 3rd at 10 AM Pacific Time.
This is my way of thanking you all for being such fun and faithful readers. I am honored and humbled by your presence here.
Mi blog-casa es su blog-casa.
Besos,
Marta

Felicidades Marti!! And congratulations on your blog, your beautiful family, and so many other things. 🙂
Happy Blogiversary!Thank you for being part of My Big Fat Cyber Family, and my real-life one too!
😉
OK, I’m shameless. My outlaws think I’m a golddigger (wrong) but they also think I’m cheap (right), so I can’t bring myself to spend money on luxuries when our budget is tight (oh, that the ex-wife would remarry — St Ann, St Ann, send Imelda a man). So count me in!
And I also meant to say that magazine cover looks great! Martha Stewart needs to watch out!
Congratulations, Marta. You have a wonderful site, which only reflects how wonderful you are. Keep up the great work!
Hi Marta,CONGRATULATIONS!!! I love your blog and have faithfully kept up with it for the entire time….certaninly hope to do so for many, many more years!!! You and Kikita are the best!!!

Not only do I and my daughter look forward to reading what’s going on with you and your family daily (it’s like a daily phone call),but you have inspired me to start one of my own. Boy, it’s hard work and knowing that you’ve been at it for two years encourages me to continue when I’m not in the mood. And I just started. LOL!!!! Congratulations!!!!!
I love you as that Other Martha! Happy Anniversary, Amiga…Thank you for sharing your wit, wisdom and wonderful family with us all. Un besote.
OK…got this link from Bilingual in the Boonies, but another link to a cubanita family? I gotta love it….though I’m Puerto Rican…that’s close enough to Cuba to warrant winning…right?Love the site and added to my favorites…
Congratulations Marta! I love your blog and you know I’ve tried all your recipes…The cookbook is always sitting on my kitchen counter and I’m just waiting for volume 2!!! I also congratulate you on your wonderful family, I’m sure they are your inspiration. Keep blogging!…and cooking.

Felicidades! I am such a huge fan of your blog…I live in New England and oh so very far away from my Cuban family in NJ…your blog is my daily trip “home”…I’ll keep my fingers crossed for that cookbook…my hubby would marry me ten times over if I could cook like a good Cubanita…he loves me still though…here’s to two years and many more!
I missed the beginning, as I have only been here for about a year and a half– but I am loyal, and I am very nearly Cuban on the inside.:)Happy Anniversary!
xoxo-Nicole
Blog, baby, blog!
Wow … two years! It just seems like yesterday I found you via Babalu! I’ve copied all the recipes you’ve posted and tried just about all of them. Tamales en cazula and arroz con pollo are my two faves, but my kids LOVE the picadillo (I think it’s the sweet little raisins).Besos y abrazos,
Ileana
P.S. Dang it! I thought it was a real magazine … I would certainly subscribe to it!! 😀
Congratulations Marta hope I win! Looking forward to many more years!
If that is bad Photoshop, I would hate for you to see what I do! ;)Happy Blogiversary! I love your blog and have enjoyed reading it for a while now. I would love one of those mugs for Mami.
Me, me, ooh, ooh, me!!!! I am enjoying your blog (and your family) so much…and I’ve got MY own Big Fat Cuban Family!
How fun! Congratulations Friend!! I love your BLOG and your big fat cuban family!love, jana
Congrats…. I hope I win! 🙂
I read your blog EVERY day. Thank you for being a part of my extended Cuban family.
Marta dear,You are such an amazing role model. I admire all of your creative
endeavors. The best, of course, are Eric, the children and your “extended family” of daily readers. The cover is clever, witty and
VERY PROFESSIONAL looking. Congratulations and know that
I begin my day at the computer reading MBFCF. If you aren’t there,
my day is incomplete. Enjoy your celebration.
Kisses to all the Darbys.
Marta,Felicidades!! I first surfed over here about a year ago (around the time “el dictador” got sick…and hopefully died! Did I really just say that? I try to not wish ill for anyone, but he’s an exception). I must say that I’ve had a wonderful time getting to know you and your lovely family through your writing. Several times throughout the week I’ll find myself wondering “hmm I wonder what Marta and her clan are up to”. That being said, I hope you never find my blog because I tend to be a bit of a potty-mouth, LOL.
As far as these prizes are concerned, I’ve been so wanting to purchase some of this shizz, but being self employed in the music biz which has taken such a huge hit from burning, downloading, piracy and an overall lack of respect, I’ve been broke-ass! So, pick me! Pick me! Just kidding!! Seriously, your blog is a gift in and of itself. You are always insightful and uplifting and THAT, mi amiga, is the true gift! Continued happiness to you and yours (that means you too Kikita)!
Yeeeeeeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaaaw!(Sorry… the Mexican Hillbilly came out in me. The Mexican from my Dad and the Hillbilly from my Mom)
Congrats Marta!
I have read this blog for two years now and loved every minute of it. You and Kikita, have kept me coming back for more. When I was 22 I married my husband and we moved to Idaho. I left behind a my Big Fat Mexiican Family in Arizona. Even after being married for 22 years, I still miss my family whom I visit from time to time, but even that is not enough. *LOL* My Hubby’s family (Hungarian, English and Polish) are good to me but they just don’t quite get me. *laughs* Living so far away from my family has been difficult but reading your blog made me feel as if I am at home. I found out that Cubans and Mexican aren’t really that different. You have made me laugh and cry and reminded me so many wonderful memories of my own Big Fat Mexican Family.
You Rock!
Ay, creo que llegue tarde a la rifa; that’s what you get when you’re some sort of workaholic… but “that is not important right now”. The real thing is that MBFCF is two!!!! FELICIDADES MARTA!!!You know I’ve said before: I owe you two big things in this life (among several others in smaller sizes): one is having opened my eyes and my mind to the blogosphere, and the second is blessing me with the recipe of the pastelitos de guayaba while living in the Rockies’feet.
CONGRATULATIONS ONE MORE TIME and I hope you keep going with all your energy because you are an inspiration.
Congratulations – Let the Terrible Twos begin!
I was faked out by the magazine cover
congratulations on 2 years!
Felicidades! I thought I’ve posted last night that I was kind of late for la rifa (which happens a lot when you are a workaholic) but would add my congratulations anyway. CONGRATULATIONS AND BIG, BIG THANKS!(Well, maybe I was too sleepy to know what I was doing? ;(
I’ve said it before; Marta I owe you two big things; one is having initiated me in this Cuban blogosphere being such an inspiration and the second is allowing me (and my family) to enjoy pastelitos de guayaba despite living in The Rockies’ feet.
Thanks and please, never stop that creative brain!!
Ooopss! It’s up there…(my first comment) no importa; it’s twice the joy and doubled congratulations!:)
FELICIDADES OTRA VEZ!
I am not Cuban, but my husband and little son is, so I guess I am an honorary Cuban! Congratulations on your 2 year anniversary, and thanks for keeping the culture!Besitos!
Hola MartaI am first generation Cuban American living in Connecticut. I love you blog!
If I win I would love your cookbook! Reminds me of my Papi’s cooking!
Janel
Felicidades! Thanks for doing what you do.
I can’t remember if I’ve ever left a comment before ! Oh well, I still read your blog pretty much every day. Your are so blessed with such a wonderful family, and the traditions you maintain. I don’t care if I win anything (it would be nice, but that is not why I am commenting). I wish you only the best, and I hope you continue to blog for many years to come.
Love love your blog. The stories, recipes … All the best always.
