We spent the day at the beach here on Coronado Island in San Diego at this hotel.
It’s called The Hotel del Coronado. Or just The Del, if you’re a local or you just know stuff. It’s my absolute FAVORITE place down here because of the beautiful turn of the century architecture and all around general coolness of the history of the place.
Because we’re trivia-dorks, practically the first thing we did was . . .

The “Del” was in Some Like It Hot with Jack Lemmon, Jack Lemmon was in The Legend of Bagger Vance with Matt Damon; Matt Damon was in Saving Private Ryan with Tom Hanks who was in Apollo 13 with Kevin Bacon… I may have another way to do it but I think thats the best I got.

Great hotel and yes Some lIke it Hot with Marylin Monroe, Lemmon and Tony Curtis was filmed there.Marilyn lived in that beach bungalow next to the hotel during filing. GREAT hotel and what a nice vacation for a family!

The Del is is in San Diego.San Diego is near Miramar Naval Air Station.
Where “Top Gun,” starring Tom Cruise takes place.
Tom Cruise was in “A Few Good Men,” with Kevin Bacon.
