A few months back, Amy and I got the chance to preview the film, Gnomeo and Juliet from Disney Pictures. It's about Garden Gnomes in an ill-fated romance. Yes. Garden Gnomes. In love. I just love the wonderful absurdity of the entire premise.
Amy Kikita and I actually got to see it in theaters a few months back and while we were a bit tense about the clay figures bouncing around everywhere (Be careful you might break! *wince*) we thoroughly enjoyed the FABULOUS Elton John soundtrack and Jim Cummings was genius as the Pink Flamingo, Featherstone, but that's not important right now.
Here we are rocking those RED 3-D glasses. (I know. Shut up.)
I have a copy of the aforementioned Gnomeo & Juliet and a copy of the film, I Am Number Four, which my 15 year old, Jonathan, says is, "Phenomenal. I wish I could glow." 😉
The generous folks at Disney Pictures have offered to sponsor a DVD giveaway (and I graciously accepted their generous offer, thankyouverymuch). =D
For a chance to win both DVDs, please answer one or both of the following questions:
- What's your favorite Elton John song?
- Do you enjoy watching 3D movies? Why or why not?
I'll choose a winner on Monday, May 23rd at 11 am Pacific Time.
"Oh Gnomeo, Gnomeo. Wherefore art thou, Gnomeo?" ~Juliet
*Disclaimer: The videos were provided at no cost to me by Disney Pictures, the opinions are my own.
-Don’t go breaking my heart W/ Kiki Dee-No, I have to wear double glasses and they give me a headache.
Can You Feel the Love Tonight. Sappy, sweeping, romantic, what is not to like? Plus it’s from my favorite Disney movie.Overall, I enjoy movies in 3D, but it does give me a headache about halfway through.
– Candle in the Wind- I already wear glasses and it’s a pain to have to wear the 3-D ones on top. So, I don’t enjoy the movie as much since I’m always fidgeting with my glasses x2
– Rocket Man- I do, but I don’t like taking my kids to them because the glasses are always too big for them and they keep taking them off throughout the movie.
I haven’t seen either movie! Gracias for the opportunity!
Mwuah!
My favorite Elton John song is “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” – It just makes me want to dance and sing at the top of my lungs.I’m on the fence with 3D movies. I usually only go to IMAX 3D and the first few minutes always makes me nauseous…then I forget I’m even watching something in 3D halfway through the movie. In any case, it’s a fun experience.
#1-Can I say all Elton John songs? I guess I might choose “Your Song” or Tiny Dancer” as they bring back fond memories of a teenager. Did we ever go to an Elton John concert together? I went to a couple in those days. I’m listening to my Elton John Pandora station right now!!#2-I HATE 3D! I was so hopping it was a fad. I thought it would run it’s course by now. I get headaches from it. Whenever possible we avoid it! I hear they are making the hobbit movies in 3D, :-/
Thanks for the give away and HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I love you MORE!
Hakuna MatataYes, because it puts you in the movie.
Hi! I just started reading your blog and as a Cuban let me tell you I connect with your stories sooo much! Y cuando yo llegue de Cuba..don’t worry I won’t start my story now lol.My favorite Elton John song is “Circle of Life.” Makes me smile every time.
And I do enjoy watching 3D movies because it gives me a chance to reach out and “grab” my favorite actors/characters on screen…without looking crazy 🙂
