I know some people still think that homeschooling is a little unconventional.
But today, our first day of the school year, was an absolutely normal school day for us.
Here are the subjects we covered:
Color Theory:
(And thanks to Tactical Talent in the 3rd and Tripped the Light in the 6th, we were up $48, but that's not important right now.)
Geography: "Where the surf meets the turf at Del Mar."
Go on. You can admit it.
You wish you were educated like this. 😉

Wrrr! I DO wish I’ve attended a school like yours. Could you save me the agenda, curriculum, plans or whatever you use, so I can use them let’s say, in three years, if I can come to homeschool my boy?Plisssss??

Ody,You obviously know that learning happens wherever we are.
jana,
Lunch sounds good. And yes, my treat!
Mailyn,
I’m so proud of you for starting to blog in the first place. I think by the time Nicolas gets to be school age, you’ll be ready to homeschool.

Marti,Our first days of school were the same in a lot of ways :o) We are a lot alike! We are spending the week in Wyoming horseback riding, fly fishing, skipping rocks over Jenny Lake in the Grand Tetons and tomorrow we are heading out to Yellowstone. Overall, we are thoroughly enjoying God’s creation and having great family time. Back to “regular” school next week…whatever THAT means…

This is about the best case I have ever seen made for school outside of an institutional setting. Aside from the obvious lessons you delineate; your children have a much bigger view of the world and most importantly…THEY KNOW HOW TO BEHAVE IN MANY DIFFERENT PLACES!!! As far as I’m concerned, if they learn that, they can be successful anywhere, and in virtually any field.Brava, maestra, brava!
