Child of the Revolution and Three Guys from Miami Cook Cuban are from www.amazon.com.
(Note to Luis – See? I told you I pre-ordered. =D)
Home Companion is the BEST magazine for "living the artful life." And Sunset is my favorite gardening magazine.
Can you guess what my big plans are for this weekend? 😉
Seriously. I’m DELIRIOUSLY happy.
Recipe for
Café con Leche
(need a coffee press for this one)
- 2/3 cups freshly ground coffee
- 2 cups water – boiling
- 2 cups milk
- sugar – to taste (Cuban taste requires LOTS of sugar =D)
Place the grounds in the bottom of your coffee press. (If
you don’t have a coffee press, you can get by with a glass pitcher.)
Add the boiling water and allow the coffee to steep for 5 minutes.
While coffee is steeping, place milk in a sauce pan over medium heat.
Bring the milk to a low boil and immediately reduce heat to a simmer –
stir occasionally.
Back to the coffee… press down the plunger of your press to strain
the coffee grounds. (If no press, use a fine strainer to remove
grounds.)
Transfer hot milk to a serving pitcher. Add coffee to the milk.
Distribute the Café Con Leche evenly among 4 cups.
