I had trouble coming up with a headline for this post because I have sooo much I want to tell you about. So bear with me while I give you all the “chisme” about our fabulous upcoming August weekend celebrating our LA Dodgers, our Cuban Heritage, Willy Chirino, and of course, our CUBANITY.
First of all, you will want to know where to get tickets to all the events. (Thank you for asking.)
Cuban Heritage LA – Tickets and fedora
Cuban Heritage Day at Dodger Stadium is officially scheduled for Sunday, August 27th, 2017.
If you order your game day tickets using this special link through the LA Dodgers, you’ll receive this very cool looking fedora with the LA logo. (Ahora sí!) Here’s the link: Dodgers Tickets Cuba Day/MLB.
Game time is 1:10, but most of us arrive early to enjoy the family friendly Viva Los Dodgers celebration before the game to dance some salsa before the game.
Willy Chirino Is Coming To LA
Let’s talk about Latin Grammy Award Winning Willy Chirino for a moment, please.
Our beloved favorite son (<–see what I did there?) Willy will be here in Los Angeles that weekend to not only throw out the first pitch (!), but he will be singing the National Anthem as well. (Shut up. I know. I am picturing myself crying like a baby when Willy steps up to that microphone, but that’s not important right now.)
Just the sound of his voice gives me goosebumps. Check out these next delicious 30 seconds.
Willy Chirino at the Mayan
Because Willy will be in town for a few days, he will also be performing at the Mayan (El Palacio de La Salsa) in Los Angeles at their “Night in Habana” on Thursday, August 24th. Here’s the link to get tickets. If you’ve ever seen Willy Chirino, you know he puts on an amazing show. If you have not seen him, what are you waiting for? Priced at only $30, you will NOT want to miss it!
Habana Brand Clothing – Official T-shirts for Cuban Heritage Day
Whether you’re going to be at Dodger Stadium for the game on Sunday, August 27th, or even if you live in “el exilio del exilio,” you’re going to want this year’s Cuban Heritage Day tshirt.
I’d love to see Cubans across the country represent and show their love of baseball and country by wearing this beautiful shirt. Here’s the link to Habana Brand Clothing where you can purchase your Cuban Heritage Day tshirt.
I’d love to see you all in your t-shirts. Please send me photos and I’ll be happy to share them on the My Big Fat Cuban Family Facebook page.
They’re super high quality and the women’s tee-shirts have that tasteful scoop neck that we love. They’re my favorite.
They come in children’s sizes too. Here’s the youngest member of the Cuban Heritage Committee, Mr. Sebastian (you may call him Bash) Darby proudly showing off his Cubanity.
To keep up with all the news for Cuban Heritage Day, please follow Cuban Heritage LA on Facebook.
You will also want to follow Habana Brand Clothing on Facebook to check out their latest styles as they roll them out.
A big shout out to the members of the Cuban Heritage Committee who are working so hard to make this the Best Cuban Heritage Day in the History of Ever.

I would love to find someone who has an extra fedora from the dodgers game with the cuban flag and dodgers logo on the hat band. I am willing to purchase it. It’s for my best friend who was born in Cuba.
