While the cat’s away . . .

January 30, 2007 By Marta Darby 3 Comments

That’s right.  Mom’s not here today.  She has no internet connection.  Pobrecita.  So I, Birthday Amy (Marta’s eldest and cutest), have quickly and modestly taken up the reigns.  Would it matter if she did have an internet connection?  Not really.  I stopped by after dance class last night and did I find my mother?  Noooooo.  What I found were blue feathers everywhere (I assume for the tail of Gertrude McFuzz) and a brilliant but exhausted Suessical costume designer (who slightly resembles Marta Maria).  So even if Mom HAD an internet connection, she wouldn’t be posting because Seussical is in dress rehearsals now.  She should be so proud of herself for making all those costumes.  You can be sure that the minute I get a cast picture, I’ll post it.  Because now I have posting power!  So what do you think of my awesome hair?  Hair Yeah, I think it’s pretty cool too.  It adds that much more flavor to my dancing.  "Dancing?"  Yes, I’m taking ballroom dance at Arthur Murray.  I focus mostly on the Latin dances (Salsa, Cha Cha, Rumba, & Tango) and I love it.  I’ve only been with the studio for a couple months now, but because of my natural Cuban rhythm I am doing very well.  They are even trying to convince me to participate in the showcase coming up at the end of February.  Can I help it if I’m awesome?  When it comes to my dancing I’m always "sandpapering myself".  So Mom said I should definitely do the showcase, as long as she doesn’t have to make my costume.
